DJ Lessons NaJade Bangkok

Who These Lessons Are For

Beginner to pro. In Bangkok or anywhere in the world.

Complete Beginners

Never touched a DJ controller? Perfect place to start. Lessons begin with the fundamentals — how DJ software works, how to load tracks, how to beatmatch by ear, how to make your first transition. By the end of 4–8 sessions, you'll be playing a basic 30-minute set.

Advanced & Aspiring Pro DJs

Already DJing at parties or small gigs and want to level up? Advanced lessons cover creative transitions, set design, performance psychology, getting booked, building an online presence as a DJ, and the business side of working as a DJ professionally.

Intermediate DJs

Can beatmatch and mix two tracks but feel stuck? Intermediate lessons focus on what separates okay DJs from good ones — phrasing, EQ-based transitions, harmonic mixing, energy management across a 60-minute set, and reading what a crowd actually needs.

Online Students Worldwide

Online lessons via Zoom work for students anywhere in the world. Same one-on-one structure, same personalized curriculum, just over video. Screen sharing for software walkthroughs (Rekordbox, Serato), live video for technique feedback, and a clear progression plan between sessions.

Why Learn DJing with NaJade

  • You learn from a working DJ. Every lesson is informed by what actually happens when you’re behind the decks at a club, wedding, or rooftop — not just textbook theory.
  • Lessons built around your goals. No fixed curriculum. If you want to be a wedding DJ, lessons focus on weddings. If you want club gigs, lessons focus on energy management. If you just want to play for friends, that’s fine too.
  • Patient and no-ego. DJing has a steep learning curve. You’ll be terrible at first — every DJ was. NaJade teaches without judgment and explains things until they click.
  • Available globally. In person in Bangkok, online anywhere else. Same quality of instruction either way.
  • Real feedback on your sets. Once you’re playing, NaJade reviews your mixes and gives specific feedback on what to fix and what’s working.
  • Connected to the Bangkok scene. For students serious about playing professionally, NaJade can introduce you to venues, other DJs, and the local scene.

How Long Does It Take to Learn to DJ?

The honest answer: a complete beginner can play a basic 30-minute set after 4–8 lessons. Becoming a confident DJ who can play a real gig takes 6–12 months of consistent practice. Becoming great at DJing is a lifetime — and that’s the point. The first lesson is enough to know if you love it.

Most students who stick with it follow this rough timeline:

  • Month 1: Beatmatching, basic transitions, a 30-minute set you’re proud of
  • Months 2–3: EQ mixing, phrasing, building a 60-minute set
  • Months 4–6: Harmonic mixing, creative transitions, playing for friends
  • Months 7–12: First paid gigs, building your DJ identity online
  • Year 2+: Pro-level skills, residencies, building a real DJ career

Popular Questions About DJ Lessons

How much do DJ lessons cost in Bangkok?

DJ lessons in Bangkok typically cost ฿1,000–฿3,000 per hour for one-on-one instruction, with package deals (4–8 sessions) ranging from ฿8,000 to ฿30,000 depending on the instructor and lesson format. NaJade offers both in-person Bangkok lessons and online lessons via Zoom — send a message for current packages.

For in-person lessons in Bangkok, no — NaJade provides the equipment. For online lessons via Zoom, yes — you’ll need a basic DJ controller (Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 or similar) and a laptop with Rekordbox or Serato. Recommendations on what to buy can be given before the first lesson, so you don’t waste money on the wrong gear.

For most beginners in 2026, the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 is the best entry-level option — it works with both Rekordbox and Serato, has all the essential features, and is priced around ฿9,000–฿12,000 in Thailand. Other solid options include the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX and the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 200. NaJade can recommend the right controller based on your budget and goals in the first lesson.

Yes. Online lessons via Zoom work for students anywhere in the world. The format is one-on-one, structured around your goals (hobby, club, wedding, content creation), and uses screen sharing for software walkthroughs plus video for technique feedback. Students learn from Bangkok, but also from Europe, North America, Australia, and across Asia.

You can learn to mix any genre. NaJade specializes in progressive house, melodic EDM, pop, and Thai music — but the fundamentals (beatmatching, EQ, phrasing, transitions) apply to every genre. Many students start with house or EDM because those genres are the easiest to learn beatmatching with, then expand from there.

No. Music theory helps but isn’t required. The basics of DJing are about counting bars, hearing tempo, and feeling the energy of a track — none of which requires reading sheet music. Harmonic mixing (key matching) gets more useful at the intermediate level, but software like Rekordbox shows you the key of every track so you don’t need to identify it yourself.

For most students, once a week is the sweet spot. Often enough to build momentum and remember what you learned, spaced out enough to practice between sessions. Some students take 2–3 lessons a week if they’re learning fast or have a goal date (a wedding, a first gig). Less than once every 2 weeks tends to slow progress.

Yes. There’s no age limit on DJing. NaJade has worked with students from teens to people in their 50s who decided to learn for fun, for a side career, or because they always wanted to. DJing rewards patience and ear training more than youth — adult learners often progress faster because they listen more carefully.

The basics (beatmatching, EQ, transitions) are easier than people think — most students can play a basic mix by lesson 4. What’s hard is the ear training — learning to hear the music, not just play it. That takes time. The good news is you’ll have fun the whole way, even when you’re bad. That’s why DJing sticks for people who try it.
